Tomáš Hruška Director-General Brno, 11 March 2016 Dear Business Partners For more than 100 years, Strojírenský zkušební ústav (SZU) has been providing its expert services in the field which is nowadays referred to as the "TIC" sector (Testing, Inspection & Certification) and which significantly complements the production and trade spheres. SZU, whose founder is the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, develops these activities in cooperation with the European and world leaders in TIC sector and among others it is an active member of International Confederation of Inspection and Certification Organisations - CEOC. SZU provides its expert services within the obtained authorisations and competence. Currently, these are in particular the assessment of conformity pursuant to fourteen EU directives in force, accredited activities of a testing laboratory, certification of products and management systems, and the services provided by SZU Inspection Body. We would like to offer you our expert services from the extensive porfolio of activities for which SZU is accredited, authorised and also notified on the European level (see NB 1015). Within the single European market, we are one of the entities whose services are applicable, recognized and sought after in all EU countries. On the other hand, thanks to our commercial representation network in the world, starting with South America, through Europe including the countries outside the EU, CIS countries, and ending with Middle and Far East, we are able to support the manufacturers intending to market or to put into service their products in the countries outside the single European market, for example in Korea, China, Customs Union and in Ukraine. Currently, we are promoting and strengthening our position in North America. In all the mentioned territories, we offer the manufacturers our services and useful assistance. Therefore, if you are trying to solve the issue which legislation is in force in the Czech Republic and in the EU, we are the right partner for you.
